WHY WE COUNT :
- Increased ability to prepare statistical and programmatic reports for funders, boards and other stakeholders
- To provide an updated profile of the homeless in San Diego County (The Regional Homeless Profile).
- To provide agencies with important data on our homeless population - critical for federal and state grant applications.
- To assist in funding from HUD-SHP (Supportive Housing Program). In order to receive these funds an annual count is required.
- To assist in local and regional planning.
- Benefit any organization that provides services to San Diego’s homeless.
- The RTFH count is the ONLY region-wide comprehensive count.
