The PITC estimates the number of homeless people, both on the street and in shelters, throughout the entire San Diego region. Our annual point-in-time count (PITC) enables local agencies to plan their services for homeless persons. As part of the count, demographic surveys are administered to help assess characteristics of those who are homeless.
