DESCRIPTION:The Regional Task Force on Homelessness is excited to have partnered with the District Attorney’s Office to provide a training on the incorporation of trauma informed practices throughout the homeless services system.  Whether your program is primarily engaged in outreach\, shelter\, interim/bridge housing\, or permanent housing solutions\, we hope you will encourage your staff to attend.  Today is the first of two sessions: \nUnderstanding Trauma \n\nDefinition of the causes of trauma\nTrauma and the Brain – Understanding Abuse Survivor’s responses and impacts on the brain\nImpacts of trauma on physical and mental health\, learning\, memory\, and how unaddressed trauma can impact survivors over time\nHow trauma manifests in behaviors\nDifferences between children\, teens and adults\nNeurological changes that can occur as the result of trauma and examples of triggers\n\nRegister Here \nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. \n  \nPlease also join us on Thursday\, March 17th for the Application of Trauma Informed Practices \n\nIndividualized approaches based on needs\nUsing best practices and treating people with dignity and respect\, with sensitivity to trauma and possible triggers\nSimple and practical tools to use in a homeless services program – the “do’s and “don’ts”\nTaking care of yourself and recognizing secondary trauma
