On February 28th, 2019 the Regional Task Force on Homelessness gathered representatives from local governments across the region to convene the first Homelessness Intergovernmental Roundtable.

“Leaders throughout San Diego met to discuss opportunities to collaborate with, and utilize the expertise of the RTFH. Our goal was to open and maintain a dialogue with local decision-makers, provide access to resources and services, and share nationally recognized strategies designed to alleviate homelessness,” said Councilmember Chris Ward.

This roundtable was the first in a series of planned quarterly meetings designed to bring local and regional government leaders together to review, collaborate, and address the impacts of the statewide homelessness crisis on our region.

“As the RTFH continues to take on existing projects and develop existing programs, we look forward to working side-by-side with local governments to strengthen and expand our community’s collective response to homelessness,” said Tamera Kohler, Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Task Force on Homelessness.

Over the last several months, the RTFH has received approximately $27 Million from California’s Homeless Emergency Aid Program (HEAP), SB 2 – the Building Homes and Jobs Act, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding through its Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP).
