Hello HMIS users,
Recently a process for accepting verbal consents for CIE has been made available.
Previously it was announced that only a signature would allow the HMIS-CIE MPA to share to CIE. This is no longer the case and verbal consent is now also accepted by CIE.
This means that data can now be shared using the combined HMIS-CIE MPA (Multiparty Authorization) without a signature and only relying on verbal consent.
For this change, nothing about the HMIS workflow changes.
The verbal consent emergency protocol is still in place. This is simply a notification to inform the community that as of 4/1, Verbal Consent based on the combined HMIS-CIE MPA will be used to share data with CIE in the same manner as if it were signed.
