Rolland E. Slade serves as Senior Pastor of Meridian Southern Baptist Church in El Cajon, California. A history-maker in denominational leadership, Pastor Slade is the first African American elected as chairman of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention and recently completed serving two years as president of the California Southern Baptist Convention. In addition to his ministry leadership, Pastor Slade has dedicated more than 20 years of service to youth sports as a Little League District Administrator in San Diego, sending two teams to the Senior League World Series (2012 and 2025). He has served on the Advisory Committee to the President of the Little League Baseball and Softball International, influencing the global vision of the organization. His leadership, whether in the church, community, or on ballfields is marked by a commitment to unity, service, and the development of future leaders.
