RTFH Community Engagement Session on People Who Are Black and Experiencing Homelessness

March 8, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

People who are Black are overrepresented in the United States’ homeless population, even though they comprise only 13 percent of the total population in the country. In the San Diego region, Black people represent between 5.5-6.4 percent of the overall population; however, they comprise 26-28 percent of the homeless population.

The RTFH Ad Hoc Committee on Addressing Homelessness Among Black San Diegans (AHABSD) invites community members to discuss the needs of people in their programs who are Black. Discussion facilitators will also share feedback from last year’s community engagement sessions conducted in collaboration with people with lived experiences of homelessness.

Your participation will be essential in helping to inform the work of the Ad Hoc Committee. This spring, the AHABSD will produce an Action Plan that provides recommendations to the CoC community on how to improve services and outcomes for people who are Black and experiencing homelessness.

This session will be held on Mar 8, 2022, at 1:00 PM. Register today!
